The BETTER way to become a BETTER athlete!

West Michigan Athletes and Coaches....Don't waste another dime on ineffective speed and sports performance training programs and high priced equipment. Improving performance, functional strength and flexibility is simple to achieve when you understand how the body was designed to function, and you train it as it was designed to work.  It takes having an open mind and being able to think outside the box when it comes to training techniques, along with specialized training from experts in functional training. Before you commit to one of those ineffective programs, take the time to check out Zone Focused Sports Performance to see how we are changing the way athletes train.

What happens when you stretch out a rubber-band and then let it go? It snaps back and depending on the size of the band and how far you stretch it, it can snap back with some serious power. In other words if you load the rubber band (stretch it) aggressively it will unload (come back) aggressively.

If you want to run faster, jump higher, throw harder, or perform better you have to be able to load a muscle before you can unload it. This loading and unloading of the muscle is what delivers explosive power that moves the body. In other words your muscles function very much like a rubber band. First you have to load (stretch) them then release the stored energy and watch them explode. Just like a rubber band, the harder it is to stretch the muscle (IE: load it) the less energy you will functionally store in that muscle (rubber band). The less energy you store the less energy you have to cause an explosion of power from the muscle or the rubber band. Resistance robs the body of maximum function, explosive function and performance.
